Description
HOKUKAGE. villian. livewire to the chaos in flame.Hokukage is one of the many who are leading the Sullens, the army of dark ninja. This primitive yet well organized community began before any civilization, but it is slowly losing its territorial power.
Hokukage's greed and fame eventually grew out of proportion, and he took his roll in the eventual ruination of the army. His political advancements in the community gave him considerable influence, disapproved of by most....
This particular character is designed as iconic "NINJA" character for the story of Ninja Talkshow. To confirm that NINJA talkshow indeed has ninja characters in the story

The leg isn't too long in my opinion, since we can't see the exact length of the other leg and the arm is also 'very' long. It is a perspective thingy (no you mentioned his characteristics in the description...never mind then)? Oh well, like it alot (the shadow is neat too)!

Cinnamon: Well, I certainly do my own drawings too, Pillows was my drawing, but I just haven't been doing that many sole creations because I've been working so much on this project with HOON. Although I am slowly cooking one up in the oven

You get my +10 and favorites list. This is AMAZING! It's great to see this sort of style from a fellow female. It tends to be dominated by male- if you understand what I mean.

Excellent work. But if i got this right; You are a colorist? Or do you also do some drawing? Because, I'm sorry, but most of the excellence comes from Hoon's drawing-skills. The coloring alone shouldn't qualify you as drawing-elite...
But maybe I'm speaking to soon. And don't get me wrong, I think you're great

our work process goes something like this.
as i sketch, Juji and i constantly share the idea for the character, and i take as much advices as possible coming from juji's input. when sketch is done, and coloring process begins, we do the same thing, and i constantly input my thoughts towards rendering character in color. so there really isnt point of breaking down who does what parts of creating the image.
anyone who ever collaborate with another artist should know, that your job isnt simply working on pencil, or just brushing up the character. great collab chemisty only happens when both are deeply involved in whole process of work, from the begining to the end, top to bottom.
Having said that, I would have to point out Artoonator's comment and respond.
i am not quite certain how you can separate the lines out of the color when you come across a piece such as this.
with status you have as an elite, it will be only approperiate if you have better understanding of drawing.
Drawing shouldnt suggest only "LINE ART."
there are thin line between drawing and painting, and what differenciate the two is simply how you approach art, in my oppinion. What you see here, is catagorized as drawing, because the system in this community requires such catagorization. i believe these concept arts are welcome to many of you because they do have multiple values as art. which conveys more than a single simple technical classification of genre.
im also having hard time understanding what you mean by "drawing-elite." do you suggest that people who draw should only draw, but not to paint? if so, i suppose catagorizations are there to limit your ability to express oneself in art technically.
last, but not least, when you say "most of the excellence comes from Hoon's drawing-skills," sorry to say it but that doesnt come to me as a complement. im proud of this piece as collaborative work, and these pieces deserve to be in Jujis gallery for level of work she put into each pieces.
i will be completely honest with you all. i personally think there are greater talents in members gallery than elite gallery- by far. for some artists here might think having a little golen boy or girl next to your alias could be a goal, and it may mean so much to you, but i can assure you, its nothing more than a symbol. I think its better drawing or paint another piece and tame your skills rather than work so hard to "lobby" your way around, get to know all your fellow members and be recognized as friendly figure who shares unspoken-obligation to vote each other. sure, its nice to be part of a community and be active, but doing so only to gain "elite" Status as your goal is simply waste of time.
thanks all once again for commenting and supporting. your words will help greatly for both Juji and myself.
01/20/05 @674
well thats of coz true but if you would follow your own credo that elite isnt everything
it would be just fair not to try to get into elite voting if the pics itself are only 50% or less done by someone.
but as life is never fair you dont need to care about my old fashioned opinion
01/20/05 @730
actually life is quite fair to my opinion. its only matter of how you looking at it.
01/20/05 @783
01/20/05 @825
It's really great to see such a synergy of artistic minds create some wonderful pieces of art that are rich in color and substance. I applaud you both.
The Ninja's shadow is my favorite part--it looks like a woodcut or an entity all of its own.
01/20/05 @860
ARTOONATOR: HOON pretty much covered most of it. About the section posting: I felt myself that I should probably post this in painting, so I looked up the rules for painting and drawing section. It said that any pic that has the line art showing, whether it is filled in with color or not, is a drawing, not a painting. And this pic certainly has most of the lineart showing. ^^; So I believe it belongs here.

I have nothing against collabs... and i like villians + this is a man.
For god's sake!

@ Hoon Life's a bitch
xeN and Artoonator are right on one site; you're right on the other site. Since I'm also working as a colorist since a couple of time I know that coloring a piece can be much work.
Whatever I don't think that she would "need" your drawing skills. She even gets many points when she works on her own.
So she'd become elite sooner or later anyways.
01/21/05 @043
Please, keep in mind that both me and Juji here arent doing art to get ELITE in gfx. that never has been a goal.
me and juji have worked on comicbook project together and got published before, and we are doing it again, this time around, with original story. these character design concepts are made to develop that story.
im glad you think that juji is capable of getting alot of points on her own and becoming elite. and i agree. absolutely. though i wish you dont under- estimate the value of collaborative efforts. both me and juji share the same and greater purpose when we work together, and when our work is posted here, its a way of sharing that with everyone. ^^
01/21/05 @104
There's some truth in all of them. In some more ins some less.

I'm not saying that I have a strong opinion on what 'drawing' or 'painting' should be like, and i understand what a shared process does. You suggesting that I (and being elite has nothing to do with that what soever) should have a better understanding of what it all is about comes to me as belittering. You don't know what my view on art is, because I never said anything about that. All I mentioned on that part was that I PERSONALLY find more appreciation for your drawing skills, than for Stacies coloring work, in a technical way, and in a subjective way. For all I know, we share the same opinion on what makes a good artwork, and I also mentioned thinking about Stacies artwork as great.
(Sorry, needed to clear that up, because i don't like people being judgmental about my perspective on art, I'm actually very liberal in my opinions on that.)
